TALAKAG - the etymology of which came from the Bisayan dialect LAKAG meaning "to go after” or
“follow in pursuit” and the prefix TA denoting “fondness in doing such”.
In other words, Talakag means “fondness in giving pursuit”.

Talakag Mourns the Death of Mr Roland Buhler

Last Monday afternoon, 24th May, a robbery that went horribly wrong in Talakag resulted in the brutal death of Mr Roland Buhler. Mr Buhler, 58 years old and a German national, who considered Talakag his home for the last 15 years also owned a motorcycle spare parts shop and a sari-sari store. He is survived by his wife Venus Buhler (formerly Carangian), daughter Shirley Ann and son-in-law Mohammed Canlas.

Everyone here is so shocked and alarmed that a crime of this nature has happened in this small quiet town of Talakag. As of this posting Thursday, police and NBI authorities continue to investigate the incident and the identities of the suspects.

Hello sa tanan.Akong gikasubo sa nahitabo ni Mr.Buhler.Ambot kanus a pa kaha madakpan ang mga kriminal diri sa ato-a.Magkasamot na noon ang mga kriminal tungod sa gutom.Unsaon tapulan man tang mga pinoy sigi lang bantayan ang silingan.Kung mo against ka...wa kay mahimo pagka ugma patay ka.Wala dyod tay future sa ato a oy.....

  2. Today is his burial... We will all pray that JUSTICE always prevail.He loves Philippines and he do loves Filipino people so much but only Filipinos killed him. Please let's help one another for the justice...He was/is the wonderful man, role model, good neighbor, wonderful father, nice friend, heroic attitude as he saved lives during his death...

  4. Ben Levine here, Lily's husband. I extend my sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Buhler. I did not know him personally but I greeted him many times as I rode by his shop. A senseless tragedy that has caused me to reflect on the safety of me and my child while in Talakag. I love the people of Talakag and mourn for the good people who didn't deserve to have this happen in their community. May God bless you in this terrible time.
